THE WORLD'S FIRST PENCIL-GRIP FINE NEEDLE ASPIRATION
SYRINGE HOLDER WITH ADVANCED FEATURES
|
The world's first pencil-grip,
fine needle aspiration syringe holder with advanced
features.
|
|
|
The Tao Aspirator™ is a newly-developed, FDA-cleared, syringe holding
device for performing fine needle aspiration (FNA) of a palpable mass in
order to establish the clinical diagnosis. It is equipped with a
release button for automatically drawing back the syringe plunger, and a
regulating knob for setting a predetermined amount of negative pressure
for the aspiration. It enables the operator to direct the needle
and draw back the plunger with one hand, while stabilizing the mass to
be aspirated with the other hand.
This user-friendly, ergonomic
syringe holder was designed to be held with a prehensile grip. It
places the hand relatively close to the needle tip while the hand is in
a position of natural function, providing greater tactile sensation of
the texture of the lesion and enabling the needle movement using fine
motor control of the hand.
The present arrangement allows the
operator to place a needle into a target lesion with minimal
error. This new device affords a safe, easy-to-learn, convenient
FNA technique for every physician. |

Unique Features of the Tao Aspirator™:
- An ergonomic syringe holder designed to be held like a pencil.
- Usage of the high-precision muscles of the hand allowing fine motor
control.
- The hand is very close to the needle tip and the mass to be
aspirated, providing greater tactile sensation of the mass and
minimizing the error of needle placement
- Automatic plunger withdrawal simply by pressing a release button.
- Provides proper suction in obtaining cell samples by setting a
predetermined amount of negative pressure, which can also be adjusted
during the procedure.
- Balance of negative pressure after sampling often unnecessary, yet
can be done if desired.
- A safe, FNA technique: non-dripping of cystic fluid after the needle
is withdrawn from the skin.
- A user-friendly device which fits all sizes of hands (either right
or left).
- An easy-to-learn, convenient FNA technique.
